Our Open Days for September 2026 admissions will take place in the Autumn term (October/November) 2025. Please look back at this page in September for the dates and to book a place on an open day. 

Reception 2025 Admissions

If you have just received your offer of a place in our Reception for September 2025, we are excited to meet you soon! If you are new to Penwortham we have sent you an email from admissions@penwortham.wandsworth.sch.uk (please check your junk if you haven't received this yet). The email gives some dates that are coming up soon, including a 'Stay and Play' session.

Applying for Reception places 

Reception Admissions for September 2025

The local authority's guide below, Choose A Wandsworth Primary School, gives information about our admissions and priority area. 

Everyone must apply online for a Reception place (deadline was 15th January 2025) at www.eadmissions.org.uk or by following the link on the Wandsworth website www.wandsworth.gov.uk/admissions

Please note that children with a place in our Nursery do not automatically have a place for Reception and must apply in the same way.

The national offer day for Reception places was 16th April 2025.

Reception Admissions for September 2026

You will be able to apply for a Reception  place for September 2026 from September 2025. We will host open days in the autumn term, in October and November. The deadline to apply will be around the 15th January 2026. Wandsworth will update it's primary school guide but please refer to Choose a Wandsworth Primary School 2025 until this is updated. 

Applying for Nursery places

Nursery Admissions

We have now offered all of our places in the Nursery for September 2025 and have a waiting list in place.

If you would like to make a late application for a Nursery place for September 2025 entry and be added to our waiting list, please complete the form below. You must then bring in or email the following forms of identification to validate your application:

- Proof of address (e.g. utility bill, driving licence)

- Proof of ID for your child (birth certificate or passport)

Nursery Application Form - September 2025

Years 1 to 6  Admissions

Parents/carers who wish to apply for a place in Penwortham for Years 1 to 6 will need to complete the admissions application form obtainable from their local authority.

Penwortham’s local authority is Wandsworth and the majority of our pupils live within the Wandsworth Borough. The application will need to be returned to the local authority and they will send you a notification of whether or not a place can be offered.

Important information about applying for a secondary school leaflet

The leaflet is designed to help parents who must apply for a secondary school place in October 2021 and sets out important dates and details concerning secondary school open evenings, the Wandsworth Year 6 Test, and applying for a ‘specialist’ aptitude-based place at Ashcroft Technology Academy, Chestnut Grove Academy and Saint Cecilia’s CE School.

Starting School in Wandsworth

Parents must apply for a place in any state school in any Borough through their home council. Wandsworth Council provides a full-time place in a primary school Reception Class in the September of the school year in which their children reach their 5th birthday.

 

It is important to collect as much information as possible about the schools you want to apply for and the admission procedures.
